Levi Strauss is a name known worldwide for its clothing, as well as creating the first pair of jeans over 150 years ago. Our focus isn’t on the parent company, instead, it’s on their philanthropic organization the Levi Strauss Foundation.

We wanted to highlight how Levi’s makes an impact, particularly with the Levi Strauss Foundation, doing good across 40 different countries and spending $340 million across its 68-year life. They tackle issues ranging from HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ rights, social justice, racial equality, worker conditions, refugees, and gun violence. Most major issues you can think of, the Levi Strauss Foundation has contributed to the cause in one way or another.
Their response to the COVID-19 pandemic has already been incredible. Back in April Levi Strauss & Co. pledged $3 million to COVID-19 relief efforts. They expanded their paid sick leave to include all U.S. part-time employees, and later created reusable masks and donated an additional $75,000 to Doctors Without Borders on top of their previous $150,000.
